鈥孉t UMass Law, Brittany Raposa 鈥�12, JD 鈥�15 served as secretary for the Student Bar Association, executive notes editor for the UMass Law Review, and a Dean鈥檚 Fellow tutor. She was the first student to teach the law review associate class workshops and was a teaching assistant for contract law and trial practice.

The Somerset resident plans to practice in family law or health and social policy law.

As an undergraduate at UMass Dartmouth, Brittany earned her BA magna cum laude with a double major in English, in Literature and in Writing, Rhetoric and Communications.

Internships at Family Court and Juvenile court

鈥淚 interned at both the Bristol County Probate and Family Court and the Bristol County Juvenile Court,鈥� Brittany said.

鈥淚 conducted a fundraiser to collect stuffed animals for the children in Juvenile Court. UMass Law was able to gather more than two hundred stuffed animals for the children.鈥�

Focus on healthcare policy

Brittany has had three notes published while in law school, all of them focusing on health law and healthcare policy, areas in which she hopes to practice. She won the American Bar Association (ABA) Health Law Student Writing Competition for her article about prescription drugs, which was published in the ABA Health Law Journal.

鈥淚 went to law school to get into healthcare policy,鈥� she said.

鈥淢y plans for after graduation are to practice in the areas of family law or health and social policy law. My long-term goal is to become a law professor.鈥�
