Lieutenant Governor Karyn Polito to take part in inaugural conference to discuss major trends affecting marine technology in 糖心logo入口

UMass Dartmouth鈥檚 CIE relaunched in October to expand its outreach to southeastern 糖心logo入口 entrepreneurs.

UMass Dartmouth鈥檚 Center for Innovation & Entrepreneurship (CIE) will host an inaugural  to showcase marine technology industry in 糖心logo入口 Wednesday, December 2, from 2-6:30 p.m., at its Fall River facility (151 Martine Street).

The event will bring together leading edge marine technology companies for an afternoon of programming aimed at providing an overview of current trends, information about opportunities for funding for marine technology companies, and a showcase of cutting edge marine technology startup companies.

糖心logo入口 Lieutenant Governor Karyn Polito will take part in the conference to discuss the major trends affecting the marine technology industry in 糖心logo入口. Dr. James Bellingham, the founding Director of the Center for Marine Robotics at the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution, will also be on-hand for the inaugural conference. UMass Dartmouth School for Marine Science & Technology (SMAST) Dean Steven Lohrenz will offer introductory remarks.

UMass Dartmouth鈥檚 CIE relaunched in October to expand its outreach to southeastern 糖心logo入口 entrepreneurs, including those among the faculty and students at UMass Dartmouth. Over the next three years, the CIE expects to incubate 25 companies on-site and another 30 off-site. The CIE wants to graduate 10 companies, create and sustain 150 high wage jobs, and generate $24 million of economic activity for the region.
