Campus Community Accomplishments

Professor Steve Cadrin (Fisheries Oceanography) co-published "" in the ICES Journal of Marine Science. The article examines how stock assessments have evolved regionally, driven by data, fisheries, and management tactics. 

Associate Professor Caroline Gelmi (English & Communication) recently published the co-edited volume . The volume focuses on innovative, practical strategies to enliven college-level poetry instruction and make it more inclusive. 

Associate Professor Nikolay Anguelov (Public Policy) to the De Gruyter Handbook of Fashion Supply Chains and Operations. Anguelov's first chapter covers policy design and entrepreneurial innovations to incentivize circular fashion transitions, and the second features the success of New Bedford's upcycling fashion start-up, Refried Apparel.

Associate Professor Lisa Maya Knauer (Sociology / Anthropology) in an article about how New Bedford's K始iche始 Maya community is raising funds to repatriate a woman's remains to her birthplace in Guatemala, so her spirit can rest with ancestors, reflecting deeply rooted cultural beliefs about completing life's circle.

Assistant Professor Md Habibor Rahman (Mechanical Engineering) co-published "" in the Rapid Prototyping Journal. The piece addresses a practical and increasingly prevalent need: repairing or replicating components when the original drawings or CAD models are unavailable.

Professor Emeritus Robert Waxler (English & Communication) co-published "You Say, I Say: Staying Alive with Literature, Language and Friendship." The volume is a series of letters that Waxler and his lifelong friend exchanged over three years, exploring their thinking about writers and writing from their days as undergraduates at Brown University to their recent experiences.  

Assistant Teaching Professor Natalie Pattillo (English & Communication) Faculty News Champion by the University of Vermont's Center for Community News Champions program, which recognizes and supports journalism leaders who build partnerships between newsrooms and college reporting programs.

Arianne Driscoll (Studio Art and the Expanded Field BFA student) Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship to support her study abroad experience in Florence, Italy, during the Spring 2026 semester.
