Graduate Portfolio
Requirements
Submission of an art portfolio is required for admission to all CVPA graduate programs.
Faculty members recognize that a portfolio is not a precise measure of potential, and that applicants come to the college with varying experiences of previous art instruction
Graduate portfolio submission specifications
An MFA graduate portfolio consists of 20 pieces of original art. As a whole, it should provide a clear representation of your processes of thinking, implementation of concepts, and studio production. Your artwork should support your purpose in beginning graduate studies in CVPA. For the Admissions Committee, the portfolio is the equivalent of the entrance examinations that other academic areas often require.
An online MAE portfolio consists of 10 pieces of original art and may represent a variety of media and techniques as is consistent with the Art Education degree. For the Admissions Committee, the portfolio is a part of the holistic review of the application.
Graduate program applicants apply to the university first and then will be able to submit a portfolio in the Applicant Portal.
