A multidisciplinary research, education, training, and policy center focusing on helping industries to use nontoxic materials and generate less hazardous wastes while maintaining profitability and growth. Provides education and training on toxic use reduction and pollution prevention to industry, government, municipalities, public interest groups, and students. Sponsors and conducts innovative research in the development of safer materials and cleaner technologies, operates a state鈥搊f鈥搕he鈥揳rt surface cleaning laboratory that evaluates safer alternatives to hazardous cleaning solvents, and houses New England?s largest research library and clearinghouse of information on pollution prevention and cleaner production. Affiliated with UMass Lowell鈥檚 College of Engineering.
