NUR 554: Neuropsychopharmacology
Examination of advanced advanced knowledge of current psychopharmacological treatment for psychiatric and mental health disorders across the lifespan. Students analyze biological theories that contribute to the development of psychiatric disorders and form the basis of pharmacologic and other biologically based treatment modalities. This course introduces psychopharmacologic treatment that encompasses knowledge of culture, diversity, equity, and inclusion. Evaluation of medication management is stressed with consideration of risks, side effects, safety, and effective use. Ethical and legal issues of treatment are also discussed.
